I've been doing a lot of CSS and shoveling around a line or two of PHP here and there, so a roundup is overdue.

Firstly, let it be known, that I use Sweetcron for this Blog/Lifestream. And I love it. If you dont know what it is, read this (and come back after): Sweetcron

A week ago, I stumbled over the Sweetcron theme named "teh blog are (not) dead", used (and made, i guess) by Satish Kanwar , so I thought I'd give it a try. As always, I couldn't resist the urge to play with it so I made this out of it: Bild 5

Yeah, I know. Sorry for burning your irises. Is it irises? I should've gone with eyes instead. Sorry, anyway.

Luckily, I wasn't happy with the results, so I wisely decided to pick some of design elements of mine and other peoples' work and to try an approach described here 25 Photoshop Tutorials for Web Designers in order to make something pretty. And pretty it was: Bild 6

That's the stuff. Much better than... never mind.

So, proud as a peacock, I took off to twitter, in order to request some feedback. Boy was that a huge mistake. Don't get me wrong: I did get constructive criticism of the best kind. Leu told me that the background picture was enormous, which it was. He also mentioned something about the font size, which I, initially, decided to ignore. Shortly afterwards, my Tweetdeck went a-buzzing and sure enough, someone had written yet another piece of valid criticism. But this one was different. See, _mgb pointed me over to this website The 100% Easy-2-Read Standard , which by the magic of research took me here The Incredible Em & Elastic Layouts with CSS and now I have that splinter stuck in my cerebral cortex urging me to build a light, typography-driven, elastic layout for Sweetcron and to destroy my life doing so. Which I will do. In 2009. Why not now, I hear you ask (I don't, but I'll pretend.): Because I'm busy studying for my exams and, moreover, because I'll be attending an Accessibility Web Design course as part of my studies in Enterprise Computing at the ZHAW Zurich School of Applied Sciences next semester. So there you have it. Before I forget: of course I couldn't stop myself from mocking up what the year 2009 will look like around this URL... jrnew

Happy Holidays
